A two-bedroom home in the J2 neighborhood near the Church of Christ in the Effia-Kuma Community is destroyed by fire. According to reports, a single mother of four who sells used clothing resides in the space.
The fire broke out in the room early on Monday morning when the mother and kids were away, according to the home’s other occupants. Her neighbor’s room was on fire when it was discovered that the fire had begun as a smoke.
Neighbors arrived with buckets of water to put out the fire, but because there were electrical cables nearby, they had to move aside so the GNFS could do it.
We had around four other girls in the room next to us. My neighbor’s room was smoking when I went outside to play with the kids. My roommates and I were immediately urged to pack our possessions before the storm hit. The victim is a mother of four who works as a “foos” seller of used clothing.
She was fortunately out with the kids when the fire erupted. The fire department arrived on time, but they had to cut off the cables because they were exposed. As far as I know, there were no injuries, but her properties were totally destroyed.
The cables that were attached to the chamber, according to the police report, were all cut off to stop any future deaths. The GNFS arrived too soon to help stabilize the situation, and as of right now, they have not determined what started the fire.
No one was hurt, he said, but the victim’s possessions were completely ruined.
