Charcoal seller commits su!cide at toilet facility over 2k debt

A 22-year-old charcoal seller has reportedly committed s!icide at a toilet facility over a debt of GHc2,000 at Gomoa Obiri in the Gomoa West District in the Central Region.

The decomposing body of a 22-year-old charcoal vendor was reportedly discovered hanging in a Gomoah Obiri restroom that had been left abandoned.

According to Kasapa news reporter Yaw Boagyan, the charcoal trader known as Kobina Gyata had been away from the neighborhood for three months.

In an effort to locate the deceased, several local villages worked together to search the towns. However, they were unable to locate him, leading many to suspect that he was traveling to another town to get more charcoal for his company.

However, after a few weeks, the community decided to organize another search party after he refused to show up until his decomposed body was found in the abandoned public toilet which is located at the entrance of the Gomoa.

Speaking in an interview, Chief of Gomoah Obiri Nana Bondam V, explained that a client of the deceased gave him about three thousand Ghana cedis to produce charcoal but the deceased failed to do so. However, when the customer decided to come for the bags of charcoal from the deceased no where to be found.
