E/R: Four gold robbers arrested by police

Four individuals who were involved in a robbery attack that resulted in the deaths of two people at Asaman Tamfoe in the Eastern Region in May have been detained by police.

Seven thieves raided a gold buying business in the town, killed the security guard who was on duty, and stole an undetermined sum of money from the business. They also shot one other individual who subsequently died while trying to flee, according to a statement from the police.

Four of the gang members have so far been detained “through continued rigorous investigations and information,” according to the statement.

They include Issaka Abdul alias Baba Liman, Elvis Kwaasie, Aliu Ousmanu, who shot the security guard, and Moro Saado, who was detained in Kumasi. Aliu Ousmanu was also detained in Akanten, close to Asesewa in the Eastern Region.

The statement continued, “We want to reassure the public that the remaining three gang members can run and hide, but not for very long. We will definitely get them apprehended to face justice.
