Following the closure of the Akyem Anyinasin Methodist Junior High School, the Ghana Education Service will meet with the Municipal Security Council in Abuakwa North Municipality of the Eastern region today.
Abena Gyamerah, the Municipal Director of Education, claims that on Wednesday, July 27, a group of community members attacked a teacher because she had disciplined certain kids.
The result was the closure of the school.
Abena Gyamerah claimed the traumatized teacher in an interview with Citi News.
“We can’t let it go that way, the way they threatened the professors and the invigilators… She stated that the lads were the ones who threatened the teacher with cutlasses, sticks, and other pointed things.
Before the school reopens, she stated, “we’ll meet the community and have a discussion. We’ll visit the communities with the MCE.
A gang from the neighborhood allegedly compelled a male teacher to kneel and apologize for punishing the pupils, according to earlier reports.
On July 24, 2022, the teacher reportedly punished some of the misbehaving children.
The instructor was allegedly attacked in the evening while traveling home by a local gang after the children complained to them.
