On Sunday, July 24, 2022, a member of the Ghana Police Service passed away suddenly at the Tema Community 25 Estate Junction on the Dawhenya stretch.
At 21:52, the Ghana National Fire Service’s Motorway Command received a distress call about an accident. When they arrived on the site, they discovered a bloody collision between a Sino Tipper Truck with the license plate GG 1887-21 and a BMW with the license plate GR 772-X.
It was discovered that a BMW traveling towards Dawhenya had been struck by a Sino Tipper Truck carrying sand and headed for Tema, instantly killing the driver, who was later recognized as a member of the Ghana Police Service.
However, personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service were able to free the trapped, lifeless body of the affected person, and they then delivered it to the MTTD of the Ghana Police Service for preservation and further investigation.
The Sino Tipper truck sustained some minor damage on its lower areas of the head compartment, while the BMW was severely damaged beyond repair.
Uncertainty surrounds the accident’s cause. The Sino Tipper Truck’s passengers were unaffected by the collision.
