Kennedy Agyapong, Member of Parliament for Assin Central, has announced his intention to run for president in the 2024 general election.
He made this known while speaking in an interview with Kojo Dickson on Angel TV.
Speaking in the interview, Kennedy Agyapong explained that a critical look at the terms of government under the NPP administration has only produced good results.
According to him, former President Kuffour brought a lot of good things during his reign and the incumbent President is following in his footsteps.
He pointed to all of President Nana Addo’s achievements in Ghana under the NPP government. Among other things, he noted the Free SHS program, the one district, one factory policy, and improvements in healthcare.
With all of the great outcomes from the NPP’s brief tenure in office, he continued, it would be sensible for Ghanaians to vote him (Kennedy Agyapong) back into power to continue the excellent job.
Aside from Kennedy Agyapong, some people have been tipped to succeed Akufo-Addo as the flagbearer of the party.
They include Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the Minister for Trade and Industry, Alan Kyerematen.
