National e-Commerce Forum & Exhibition held by GIZ.

The National E-Commerce Forum and Exhibition was held by GIZ as part of initiatives to strengthen Ghana’s e-commerce sector. It served as a venue to recognize the sector’s successes and generate momentum for a common vision for the sector’s future growth.

The objective was to organize various e-commerce players for more inclusive and collaborative development.

The National e-Commerce Forum & Exhibition brought together leaders in the government, private sector, industry practitioners, national business leaders (SMEs), academia and research scholars, ecosystem enablers, intermediaries, and international development partners for open discussions that optimize current interactions between various stakeholders as well as empower stakeholders to discover and assume new roles in the Ghanaian e-commerce ecosystem.

A statement that outlines the main findings of the discussions and the next steps, naming relevant stakeholders for solutions to the problems identified, was developed as a result of the multi-stakeholder conversations that spanned the entire day.

Objectives
The National e-Commerce Forum and Exhibition provides an open forum for communication, understanding, and problem-solving among all participants in Ghana’s e-commerce industry.

It aimed to: Give participants a chance to share thoughts, best practices, and lessons learned in addressing difficulties and possibilities within the Ghanaian e-commerce sector

Facilitate dialogue amongst diverse sector actors to spur and hasten activities in response to their requirements.

Promote inclusive value chains and market structures to aid women in Ghanaian e-commerce.

Since 2022, the Pan-African E-Commerce Initiative- Boosting Digital Trade project has being carried out in Ghana by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

The Pan-African E-Commerce Initiative aims to encourage an e-commerce-friendly environment in Ghana and throughout the continent. The East Africa Community, Ghana, Rwanda, Kenya, and the Pan-African E-Commerce Initiative are all participating in this regional endeavor.

The various project interventions aim to maximize e-commerce’s economic potential.
