Zongo Communities around the nation have experienced significant developments, according to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, since the New Patriotic Party (NPP) took government in 2017.
According to Dr. Bawumia, the creation of the Zongo Building Fund has made sure that Zongo villages are included in the development of infrastructure.
Dr. Bawumia was addressing at the Zongo Development Fund Board’s swearing-in ceremony.
He noted that the Zongo Development Fund has served as a means of delivering projects and fostering inclusive and sustainable development for Zongo Communities, just as we had hoped.
President Akufo-Addo established the Zongo Development Ministry as a unique development tool to speed up development in Zongo villages and close the development gap between Zongos and other regions of the nation.
The Ministry has started a number of infrastructure projects in the last four years in a variety of sectors, including health, education, sports, roadways, and sanitation.
“Classroom buildings, clinics, drainage systems, water systems, security installations, bridges, highways, entrepreneurial support, educational scholarships, astroturf, among others, have all undergone repair or new construction.”
Dr. Bawumia continued, “This has led to the development of a number of extremely modern educational facilities, such as classrooms, ICT centers, and libraries in Zongos.
