Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie, has finally surrendered and has criticized the current government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo.
Sarkodie is one of the few Ghanaian artists that use music to try to spread a message about the country’s economic struggle.
The rapper remained mute during the past few years regarding events in the nation, despite citizens’ expectations that he would talk about them in a song, as he typically does.
However, the rapper has been heard in a leaked excerpt of a song recorded to address the failing New Patriotic Party.
Sarkodie, in the song, talked about political vigilantism, the “no employment syndrome” in the country, and corrupt leaders that drive the economy into a ditch with their wasteful spending.
He praised Dr. KWAME Nkrumah, the country’s first leader, and stated his passing was a great loss because succeeding leaders had only brought Ghana backward.
Take a listen to an excerpt of the song below.
