Hon. Sam George donates about 1,000 streetlights to help fight crime in Ningo-Prampram.

To increase security in the area, Sam George, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ningo-Prampram for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has donated 1,000 streetlights to various organizations and villages. The lights, which are expected to cost GH700,000.00, would illuminate the streets and neighborhoods to lower the district’s crime rate.
Beneficiaries

The Electoral Commission’s Ningo-Prampram office, the 22 electoral districts, the 54 public schools, the 14 health care facilities, the Afienya Police Station, the Prampram Police Divisional Command, and the Ningo and Prampram Traditional Councils are among the beneficiary institutions.

The endeavor

The donations were made as part of a GH1.5 million project to brighten all 22 electoral areas and the areas around the district’s beneficiary institutions, according to Mr. George, who presented the items last Friday at Ningo.

Sam George hands over the streetlights to the presiding member of the Ning-Prampram District.

Mr. George claimed that he had installed lighting every year for the previous five years.

He explained that the project’s next phase would concentrate on residential associations to build on what has already been accomplished.

In addition to the lamps, he claimed to have given the Ningo-Prampram Divisional Police Command several motorbikes and two pickup trucks to bolster police patrols in the neighborhood.

Mr. George also declared his plan to establish a foundation to provide apprenticeships to local youngsters so they can learn the skills and information necessary to open doors for both themselves and others.

Nene Banahene Asimeh Tetteh, the interim president of the Ningo Traditional Area, praised the MP for the kindness and said the lights will help keep the communities safe and allow people to go about their daily lives without worry.

On behalf of the Prampram Traditional Council, the chief linguist, Nene Amlerh, also thanked the MP.
