Ghana is not permitted to take part in the upcoming two FIFA U17 Women’s African Qualifiers after paying a $100,000 fine to the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
This comes after Nancy Amoh and Rasheeda Shahadu were accused of lying about their birthdates and being older than seventeen in a Moroccan complaint.
The Moroccans lost 2-0 in Ghana during the first leg of the U-17 Women’s World Cup qualification, which prompted them to file a protest.
The Ghana Football Association was given the chance to react in writing to the aforementioned claims by the CAF Disciplinary Board, but they declined.
Ghana’s appeal against this decision will still be heard by the CAF Appeal Board.
Ghana was eliminated from the U-17 Women’s World Cup in India this year after falling to Morocco 4-2 on penalties in the final qualifying game.
