Ghanaian musician, Gregory Bortey Newman, professionally known as King Promise, has stated that he is the most accepted Ghanaian musician in the global music market.
According to him, he has received a lot of love and support from the global world more than he has received in Ghana.
Speaking in an interview with the media icon, Delay on the “Delay Show”, King Promise disclosed that most of his songs have been able to penetrate the global market without his audience necessarily understanding the language he uses in penning down his lyrics.
“To be honest, I’ve received a lot of love from abroad, perhaps because my music has a universal cut across feel, you don’t need to understand what I’m singing before you can love my songs, just as Ghanaians listen to foreign songs without understanding, that’s how other people react to my songs,” he said.
The “5 Star” crooner also added that ever since he emerged onto the scene as a musician, he has been loved and supported by his countrymen and his fans from other countries.
Judging from the two, King Promise stated that he believes he is more globally accepted in the music market than in his homeland, adding that he believes he is the most accepted Ghanaian artist globally.
