People have been debating the National Cathedral project for a very long time, wondering if it is what the nation needs right now.
The majority of Ghanaians claim that while people are suffering, the government is instead focusing on building a cathedral that would do nothing for the nation.
But President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo said the National Cathedral would have several benefits for Ghanaians.
Below are some of the benefits Prez. Akufo Addo says Ghanaians are going to get from the Cathedral.

- Will place God at the center of nation-building efforts
- Provide an official venue of worship for state occasions in a predominantly Christian nation
- Serve as a fulcrum for propagating the Christian faith
- Unify the Christian Community
- Serve as a tribute to religious liberty
- More importantly, it will serve as our collective thanksgiving to the Almighty for the blessings he has bestowed on our nation, sparing us the ravages of civil war that have bedevilled the histories of virtually all our neighbors and the outbreaks of mass epidemics.
